Lady Braves Open Season on FIRE!!!
"There are only two options regarding commitment: you're either in or you're out. There's no such thing as life in between." |
"Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever." -L.A. |

Meet The Coach...
Coach Jessica Holloway will be rejoining the Lady Braves for the 2013 season. Only this time she will be taking on new a role. The 2003 Socastee graduate, has found a spot back at home...this time as a coach instead of a player. Holloway was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, SC. She played 5 years here at Socastee from 8th to 12th grade (1998 to 2003). During her time here Holloway earned many awards and accolades, and helped her team gain much recognition across the region and state. As a senior, Holloway had many scholarship offers to play both volleyball and basketball at the college level, and chose the city life of Washington, DC. In fall of 2003, she headed to Howard University on a full athletic scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Human Development in 2007. She continued her education here at Coastal Carolina where she earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and is currently working on her Master’s in Education. This is Jessica Holloway's 5th year working in Horry County and her 4th year teaching first grade at SES. Holloway started her coaching career in volleyball in 2008 coaching for several seasons with Horry County Parks & Recreation and Grand Strand Juniors Club Volleyball. However, she will begin her first year as a high school volleyball coach this fall as she steps into the role of Head Coach at Socastee High School.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to my Alma Mater, and to be a positive influence on the female athletes in this school. I am very fortunate to be able to coach such a wonderful and talented group of girls.” – J.Holloway |
The Lady Braves Varsity Volleyball team consists of 6 seniors, 4 juniors, and 5 sophomores. More than half of the girls have been working hard in the off-season to improve their skills and level of play through playing from Grand Strand Juniors Club Volleyball. They all have put in countless hours this summer through strengthening & conditioning and building team unity. We are looking forward to a great season as we continue to improve individually and as a team... Come check us out!
